How to find us
The Mersea Island Festival takes place at Essex Outdoors Mersea, an outdoor centre on Mersea Island, approximately 10 miles to the south-east of the historic town of Colchester.

Travelling by car
Mersea Island is approximately 10 miles (16 kilometres) south of Colchester.
After crossing the Strood* (land bridge) turn left towards East Mersea.
Rewsalls Lane is the third turning on the right, just after the East Mersea parish sign. There’s a sign for ‘Essex Outdoors Mersea’ at the top of the lane.
The centre is at the end of the lane, after the double bend through a farmyard and down past the Vineyard.
*The Strood can be flooded at certain high tides. If you’re visiting Mersea outside of the Festival week, please contact the centre first.
Travelling by train
The nearest station to the centre is Colchester Town, CO2 7EA (approx. 9 miles).
There are more regular trains to and from Colchester Station, CO4 5EY (approx. 10 miles). Taxis are readily available from outside the station.

Travelling by bus
There is a bus service to the island from Colchester, but the nearest bus stop is 1.5 miles away via a road with no pavement.
